In advance of the November 5, 2019 General Election, The League will also sponsor a candidate forum for Port of Seattle and City Council candidates.
Two Port of Seattle Commissioner seats, currently held by Fred Felleman and Courtney Gregoire, are up for election.
General election candidates for Port Position 2 – Sam Cho and Grant Degginger – have confirmed participation in the forum. Garth Jacobson – running for Port Position 5 – is also confirmed.
Scott Schaefer, South King Media founder and editor for seven hyper-local media news blogs, will serve as moderator. The format will include four segments: a brief candidate opening statement; a moderator-led question and answer session; community questions; and candidate closing remarks.
The League has been advised that Position 5 incumbent, Fred Felleman, will not be able to participate based upon a schedule conflict.

Aviation Expansion & our Quality of Life:
Aircraft noise and emissions present human health and environmental concerns, impact property values and public safety, and create social, economic, and environmental justice disparities. Sea-Tac now has 1,200 flights per day, has added 100,000 annual overflights the past four years, and seeks to add another 80,000 annual overflights. This growth is challenged by new science, new legislation, new lawsuits, and new citizen activism.
